Caregiver Program
Caregivers, as the name suggests, are those individuals who come to Canada temporarily to support and take care of children or for People with High and Special Medical Needs. As a caregiver, you have options to come to Canada to work temporarily or become a permanent resident.
As per recent changes and regulations, there are 2 pathways to Permanent Residence for Caregivers:
1) Home Child Care Provider Pilot Pathway
As of January 17th, 2022, the Home Support Worker Pilot is open to applicants for new applications. You can still apply under the new 2022 cap for the Home Support Worker Pilot, however, IRCC will accept up to 2,750 applications for this pilot.
2) Home Support Worker Pilot Pathway
Under Home Support Worker Pilot pathway, IRCC is accepting applications based on the new cap. As of January 17, 2022, IRCC have received at least 2,750 applications under this pilot. This means the pilot is closed to new applications for 2022. It will reopen to new applications on January 1, 2023. If you have applied after January 17, 2022, IRCC will return your application and refund the fees.
