Request an Assessment

An assessment is a review of your circumstances to identify which options may be open to you, before you commit to anything. It is the usual first step for immigration matters, and initial assessments are available at no charge.

Immigration matters

For immigration matters, the practice uses a structured eligibility form. Choose the form that fits your situation: skilled workers, family sponsorship, business or investor matters, or students.

The form asks about education, work history, language ability, family in Canada and current status, so that the assessment is based on your actual circumstances rather than a general guess.

Paralegal and notary matters

For Landlord and Tenant Board matters, Small Claims Court claims, tickets and provincial offences, or for commissioning and notarisation, send a short enquiry and the office will tell you whether it can assist and what the next step would be.

If you have received a notice, an order or a ticket, note the date on it. These matters carry strict deadlines.

What happens after you submit

Your information is reviewed and the office will contact you to confirm whether the matter is one the practice can take, and whether a consultation is the sensible next step. An assessment is not a decision on any application, and it is not a substitute for advice about your specific circumstances.

Initial assessments are available at no charge. An assessment is intended to identify the nature of your matter and whether the practice may be able to assist. It is not a full consultation or a legal opinion.

If you would like a more detailed discussion of your options, a 30-minute consultation is $70, and that fee is credited toward your professional retainer if you go on to retain the practice. You can book a consultation at any time.

Please do not upload or email identity documents at this stage. If documents are needed, you will be given a secure method to send them.
